Effect of HVAC system size on the optimum insulation thickness of the buildings in different climate zones

Thermal insulation is one of the most effective methods reducing energy consumption in buildings. Therefore, parameters influencing optimum thickness are widely investigated. In this study, obtained using life cycle analysis method and genetic algorithm by considering size heating cooling systems as an optimization variable, which has not been addressed earlier researches. Furthermore, effect climate conditions on comprehensively studied five different zones, including Hot-Dry, Cold-Dry, Moderate-Humid, Hot-semi Humid, Hot-Humid. It found that expanded polystyrene increases between 5%-19% variation central system wall-hung gas boilers. By evaporative cooler split air conditioner, increase 8-19%. This because cost reduction due to required can be expended for insulating building with larger results lower consumption. Based results, saving 3.5%-14.5% also, payback period decreases about 1 3 months, depending considered zone. The confirm determined significant inaccuracy, ignoring a result thermal insulation.
